How it works
15 months from enrolment to qualification. Here is what happens, and who does what.
The 15 months
Before day one
Enrol
Eligibility check, prior learning assessment, the apprenticeship agreement and the training plan.
Months 1–3
Foundations
The role, the law, briefs and brands. First real posts for your business. First progress review at 12 weeks.
Months 4–7
Making
Audience and data, writing, video and audio. A first full campaign, planned and published.
Months 8–11
Running campaigns
Planning, budgets, publishing and evaluating. Campaigns measured against what your business wants.
Months 12–13
Portfolio
Professional development and pulling the evidence together across all 57 knowledge, skills and behaviours.
Months 14–15
Gateway to Completion
The final check that everything is evidenced and the off-the-job hours are complete. Qualification awarded.
Three people, one plan
The apprentice, their tutor and you. Each has a clear part.
The apprentice
- Works four days a week making content for the business
- Spends around a day a week learning on the platform and in sessions
- Builds a portfolio of real work, reviewed by their tutor
The tutor (Halls of Ivy)
- Plans the training and checks every piece of evidence
- Runs one-to-ones, workshops and observations
- Leads a progress review with you and the apprentice every 12 weeks
You, the employer
- Gives the apprentice real content work and time to learn
- Joins the progress reviews and signs them off
- Sees progress any time on your own dashboard
The weekly rhythm
Four days at work
Making content for your business: planning, filming, editing, posting, replying.
One day learning
Off-the-job training — at least 348 hours over the programme. Lessons, workshops, one-to-ones.
The learning platform
Everything happens in one place: lessons, evidence, hours, reviews and messages.
1 of 8
The checkpoints
Progress reviews every 12 weeks
The apprentice, their tutor and you meet, look at the evidence and agree the next steps. All three of you sign.
Evidence all the way through
Every piece of work is checked against the standard’s 57 knowledge, skills and behaviours as it is made.
Gateway to Completion
At the end, a final check that everything is evidenced and the off-the-job hours are complete. Then the qualification is awarded.
What your apprentice makes
By the end of 15 months, a body of real work — and the person who made it.
- A content plan and calendar for your business
- Short-form videos, edited and captioned
- Carousels, graphics and written posts in your brand voice
- At least one full campaign, briefed, published and evaluated
- Analytics reports that tie posts to results
- A portfolio evidencing all 57 knowledge, skills and behaviours
